Steve Rotheryが昨年９月にリリースしたアルバムで、ソロとしては２つのライブアルバムを含めると３作目となる作品のようです。
全編インストで非常に重厚かつ格調高く、まさに渾身の一撃ともいえそうな本格派プログレといえる聞きごたえのある内容で、お気に入りの１枚となりそうです。
先生は１曲目と３曲目で参加していますが、３曲目では、Steve  Wilsonも参加しており、３人のソロがリレー形式で聞くことができ、それぞれの個性を堪能することができます。

This is Steve Rothery's 3rd. solo album which was released in September 2014.  It is all instrumental very dignified and magnificent, really progressive rock album. This is really enjoyable and it will be my one of my best favorite.
Steve plays 1st and 3rd track and Steven Wilson also plays on the 3rd track in which you can enjoy 3 guitarists different fantastic solos.

Duncan Parsonsという、マルチプレーヤーがゲストの協力を得て、昨年の11月にリリースした自主制作盤っぽいです。
先生は、J:Oi!でハーモニカでの参加です。この曲では、ジョンがフルート、カヤックのTon Scherpenzeelがピアノ、Gary Boyleがギターで参加しています。アルバムの曲は瞑想するような曲調やバラードから、ポンプっぽいプログレまで、それなりにバリエーションがあり、一口で言い表すのが難しいですが、英国的な流れが基本にはあると思います。

Duncan Parsons who is a multi-instrumentalist released this album last November with some guests help.
Steve plays harmonica on "J:Oi!" and John Hackett(flute), Ton Scherpenzeel from Kayak(piano), Gary Boyle(steel guitar) also appear on this track.
This album includes various types of songs from pomp prog rock, standard vocal oriented rock to minimal music, mediation and ballad but I think this is in 70's British rock vein basically.

ReGenesisのボーカルとReverseaというバンドのキーボードのコラボ作である本作には先生とジョン・ハケット、ニック・マグナスが参加しており、ときおりこの２人がメンバーとして参加していたころのアルバム、Spectral MorningsやDefector"あたりのアルバムを想起させるような風味がそこかしこにあります。全体的に物思いに沈むような雰囲気が支配していて、この作品を含む最近のプログレ系の作品は、一時期のようなプログレ巨人たちのオマージュ系の音から脱却しつつある感があります。
先生は８曲目で哀愁たっぷりのソロを聞かせてくれています。 

This collaboration album by the vocalist from ReGenesis and the Keyboard player of a band called Riversea, features Steve and John Hackett, Nick Magnus, and it sometimes shows the similar taste of Steve's early works such as Spectral Mornings and Defector in that they played together.  This album is overall dominated by low-key symphonic vein with beautiful passages, not like the prog giants' followers who sound almost same.
Steve plays beautiful and melancholic solo in the 8th track. Must listen.
