Making Of GTR - GTR 1986

タイトルどおり、GTRのメイキング映像で、インタビューとスタジオfootage、最後に"When the Heart Rules the Mind"のプロモビデオで構成されています。今のところDVDでのリリースはありません。日本盤は存在しないと思っていたので、下の字幕付きのビデオを見た時は、目を疑いましたが、TVKで放送された時のもののようです。非常に貴重ですね。Hackettファン的には"Hackett to Bits"とかがハイライトになると思いますが、"Sketches In The Sun"とかにも目が釘付けです。

This is making video of GTR as titled, consists of interviews, studio footage and promotion video of When the Heart Rules the Mind.  This title has not been released as DVD so far. As I thought Japanese edition had not been released, I could not believe the video below with Japanese subtitles, but it seems to be broadcast of a TV program.  I love Hackett to Bits and my eyes were also glued to Howe's Sketches In The Sun.

Tribute EPK - 2008

Tributeがリリースされた時に同じタイミングでリリースされたプロモーション用のDVD-Rで内容はアルバムの曲を間にはさんでのインタビューとなっています。
このアルバムはとても好きなアルバムのひとつで、私もかつてはRacin' in Aに触発されて、クラシックギターを弾いていた時期があるのですが、先生がクラシックギターを演奏している様子を至近距離からチェックできる非常に興味深いものとなっています。
内容もクラシックを本職としている演奏家のものと比べてもまったく遜色のない、大変魅力的な演奏となっていると思います。

Live Archives Limited Box Edition(14CD+DVD)のうちのボーナスDVDで、このボックスセットでのみ唯一見ることができます。ボックスセットの価格が31,500円、14枚のライブはすべて既出で、ボーナスDVD以外の音源はすでにもっていたため、この1枚のために3万はあまりにハードルが高く、結局購入していません。いつか、単体か、ボーナスディスクでリリースされる日がくることを首を長くして待ちましょう。

This is bonus DVD of Live Archives Limited Box Edition(14CD+DVD) released by WHD Entertainment Japan and this DVD is available in this box set only.  The other 14 CDs are same as the live archive series previously released. Because I had all archive live CDs, it was too expensive(31,500JPY) for me to buy only for this bonus DVD.

Reconditioned Nightmare - 2006

Wild Orchidsの日本盤ボーナストラック。Eruptionは言わずと知れたFocusの名曲、Reconditioned Nightmareはタイトルどおり、Airconditioned Nightmareの再録バージョンです。日本盤からは入れ替えでBlue ChildとUntil The Last Butterflyがカットされています。EruptionとReconditioned Nightmareの２曲はBeyond the Shrouded HorizonのSpecial EditionのボーナスCDに収録されました。
ちなみに、解説書によると、Focusのギタリスト、ヤン・アッカーマンとはPeter Banksのソロで共演してからのお友達だそうです。

Eruption is the famous masterpiece of Focus and Reconditioned Nightmare is 2006 version of Airconditioned Nightmare as titled. These are bonus tracks of Japanese edition of Wild Orchids which does not include Blue Child and Until The Last Butterfly instead of them. These bonus tracks are included in bonus cd of Beyond the Shrouded Horizon Special Edition.
In according to the liner notes, the Focus guitarist Jan Akkerman and Steve have been friends since they played with for Peter banks' solo album in 1973.

詳しいことは知らないのですが、テレビ用ドキュメンタリー番組のサントラらしく、当初、MP3でのみフリー・ダウンロード形式で公開されました。番組の性質上、いずれも非常に重く暗い曲調で、Nightmare YearsとOutwitting HitlerはMetamorpheusに収録されているSeveranceからそれぞれ前半部分と後半部分を編集したもの、Janowskaは同アルバムのCharon's Callの別テイクのような内容となっています。

 I'm not sure but this is soundtrack for TV documentary program and these tracks were published as MP3 free download. They have very dark atmosphere from the characteristics of the TV program.  Nightmare Years and Outwitting Hitler is the first part and the last part of Severance in Metamorpheus, and  Janowska is the different take of Charon's Call.

Brand Newの編集版で、当初、Webストアからダウンロードでのみリリースされていた記憶があります。最後のドラマチックなパートがそっくりテーマのリピートに置き換えられていて、そのままフェードアウトします。また、Inside Outのサンプラー"When Worlds Collide"にも入っているのもこの3:34の編集版です。

This is edited version of Brand New which was available for download only when it was first released.  The last dramatic section is cut out and replaced by repeat of theme and fades out. This 3'34" edit is also included in Inside Out sampler When Worlds Collide.
